Belmont Regional Park

About the park

Belmont Regional Park covers 3,500 hectares of hill country and farmland between Hutt Valley and Porirua. It’s the perfect playground for walkers, runners, mountain bikers, and even horse riders.

Choose from more than 10 different trails. Belmont Park includes short beginner routes or day-long journeys where you can take in some of the park’s exciting features. Visit the historic Korokoro Dam and WWII ammunition magazines. Or travel the original Old Coach Road between Lower Hutt and Porirua.

Take in spectacular views over the region across Boulder Hill, Round Knob, Canons Head, and Belmont Trig. There are plenty of peaceful spots to picnic by a waterfall.
