Capital Enduro
A brand new global level mountain bike race is coming to the capital, showcasing Wellington’s world class trails
Capital Enduro, a brand new mountain bike enduro race, will showcase just how epic Wellington's trails are for mountain bike racing. Whether you're a mountain bike enthusiast, pro or novice biker, there's something to suit everyone at this global level race.
Capital Enduro takes place in February 2023, with a range of shuttle-assisted trails across Mākara Peak, Wrights Hill, and Karori Hill/Western Hills. There's $5500 in prize money and over $10,000 worth of spot prizes up for grabs.
The easy course, on Saturday, will cover 25-30 kilometres of grade 2-4 trails, designed to push the limits of novice and intermediate mountain bikers, while still being a great day out for experienced riders. Sunday is designed to challenge intermediate and advanced mountain bikers. The hard course, focusing on grade 4-5 trails, will cover 35-45km of physically and technically demanding trails.
For supporters and enthusiasts, soak up the atmosphere at the event hub at Karori Park or register your interest to be a volunteer. With live music, food trucks, sponsor tents, craft beer and the start/finish gantry, the hub is designed like a mini music festival.
